MOREthan 100 people have responded to the draft plan for the future of the Kinglake, Flowerdale and Toolangi which includes recommendations from the bushfire royal commission.
The plan was released for public comment in April and when finalised the Kinglake Ranges, Flowerdale and Toolangi (KFT) Plan and Design Framework will influence the council’s decision-making in the region for the next decade.
Mayor Peter Beales said the council was working through the extensive feedback with a view to identifying possible changes to the draft plan, taking account of community views.
He said given the widespread public interest, the council would provide regular updates on the progress of the draft.
The document is intended to preserve the environment in Kinglake Ranges, Flowerdale and Toolangi and to improve the sustainability and safety of towns in these regions according to the council.
