List for living life

“DON’T wait until you win Tattslotto,” is Delyse Brown’s advice … “just do it!”
In her case the ‘it’ is walking the Inca Trail.
Delyse added her next goal to the Things To Do Before I Die blackboards set up on the hoardings around Healesville’s Memorial Hall construction site by Eastern Palliative Care (EPC).
The projects invites people to share their one or more of their bucket list goals with the world.
Louise Hogan from EPC said the project creates important discussion of death and dreams that are to seldom spoken of.
Delyse said she has no doubt she will be in the land of the Incas before … you know!
She has ticked a few things of her bucket list and is just waiting for an ankle fusion operation to get any physical barriers out of the way.
“A lot of people say ‘if I win Tattslotto, I’ll do this … or that,’ she said.
“You just have to do the things you really want to do.”
The list, changing each day as new people add their ‘to do’ is a window into the important things in life … and the fun things.
A visitor scrawls ‘Catch a marlin’ then on second thoughts adds ‘BIG’. Someone wants to ride the Ghan, someone wants to ‘Get this hall finished’, and someone else wants to ‘Marry my man and have babies’.
Some things seem achievable, others aspirational some (not ‘Dye my hair’), are inspirational – ‘Be the best I can’, ‘Live in the moment,’ ‘Spend all my money?’ ‘Meet a deadline’, ‘Finish my nursing degree’, ‘Be the best I can’, ‘Love and be loved: Tell my parents I love them’, ‘Come back to Healesville … eventually’ and ‘Learn to live in the moment’.
Some are universal – ‘See a cure for cancer and aids’ and someone has added ‘Amen’ to that.
