WITH five-time Melbourne Cup winning trainer Lee Freedman as patron, organisers of the Marysville Sparkling Wine Festival know they’ve backed a winner.
Mr Freedman attended the launch of the festival in July and will be back as guest speaker at the business breakfast on day two of the week-long program of events which culminates with Australia’s only dedicated Sparkling Wine Show and festival on Cup Day.
The business breakfast is a once in a lifetime opportunity to hear the Australian Racing Hall of Fame inductee talk about his achievements in the industry and, who knows, there may even be a tip for the big race!
The festival kicks off with the Australian Sparkling Wine Competition on Tuesday 25 October and includes a golf day on the Friday 28 October and a Cup Eve Gala Dinner. There will be plenty of fun over the weekend with a family fun day at Marysville Primary School and Calypso Night at the Crossways on the Saturday as well as book signings of the Wonky Donkey and the Marysville Art Show on Saturday and Sunday.
The art show will continue on the Monday as the town prepares for the Cup Day Festival, a day to enjoy the holiday atmosphere with live music, local produce, wine tasting, arts and crafts, children’s races, the big race on the big screens and loads more fantastic fun activities around the town.
There are limited places available at the business breakfast, and for the golf day, and unlimited opportunities for festival fun throughout the entire week.
