PLANS to improve recreation reserves in Seville and Healesville will soon be on display for public comment.
Yarra Ranges Council has put out draft master plans for several parks, including the Seville, Don Road and Queens Park facilities, which will be considered as part of a 10-year capital expenditure program.
The upgrades to the Seville Recreation Reserve are set to cost more than $2 million, and could include an upgrade to the pavilion, with change facilities for netballers, upgrades to both sports grounds and lighting, and installing barbecue and picnic facilities at the Seville Water Play area.
The existing pavilion at Queens Park will be redeveloped as well as demolishing the existing skate park and constructing a new skate park in association with the BMX facility.
The $807,450 plan will also include a new half court basketball court, playground and picnic facilities.
Priorities for the Don Road reserve could cost more than $1.5 million with the construction of a new soccer and netball pavilion and visitor change rooms for footballers, a fitness trail that circumnavigates the reserve, and a third oval area.
The council also wants to upgrade the picnic and playground areas and provide an off-lead area for dogs, and redevelop the old stables to provide a base for horse riders using the Bicentennial Trail.
The master plans will be available for viewing at community link offices for two months and a community information day will also be organised at the reserve for residents to provide feedback to council staff.
