Tennis comes alight

THE Yarra Glen Tennis Club is wanting to shine a light on midweek social tennis.
The club’s Monday night social competition has been so successful, with a waiting list of people wanting to have a hit, that the club has started turning on the lights on Wednesday nights.
“We have eight full teams and only four courts under lights, so we are very keen to get more players to make a good competition for our Wednesday night players as well,” said club spokeswoman Kerry Davies.
Ms Davies said the club welcomed players, or aspiring players, of all ages and abilities, but for those who would like to hone their skills, tennis coach Andy Glynn is at the courts five nights a week.
With daylight saving, and warmer weather, night tennis at Yarra Glen is a great way to get out of the house and onto the tennis court.
