HEAD for the hills!!!
If the very thought of Christmas shopping is enough to make shoppers run away … then they can run away to Marysville?
The Marysville and Triangle Christmas Shopping Bonanza campaign offers an alternative to the hustle and bustle of big shopping centres with an invitation, and an incentive, to shop.
The Marysville and Triangle Christmas Shopping Bonanza aims to encourage locals and visitors to support retail and tourism businesses in the Marysville and Triangle area – Marysville, Narbethong, Buxton, Taggarty and Lake Mountain – in the lead up to Christmas.
Shoppers will be surprised at what’s out there, not just in Marysville’s increasingly busy main street, but off the beaten track in delightful studios, wineries, resorts and the like.
The eclectic mix of shops in Marysville has everything from luscious lollies to jewellery, clothing, art, antiques and collectibles, photography, books, giftware, classic toys, perfumes, handbags … and more.
Gift vouchers are a great option and Marysville and the Triangle area is a treasure trove of service and experience-based ideas for a gift that is about living life and enjoying what the Marysville region has to offer.
A gift voucher for a night at a romantic bed and breakfast or a weekend break for a family at a caravan park is an experience that will create memories that will last long after the tinsel and wrappings of Christmas morning have been discarded.
A voucher for lunch or dinner at a hotel, café or restaurant, for a day out at one of the trout farms, or a horse riding adventure are just a few of the ideas for gifts that will not only support the local businesses, but create an incentive for the receiver to visit the region and discover just how much there is to see and do.
The campaign will also reward shoppers for supporting Marysville and Triangle businesses with the opportunity to win some great prizes.
For every transaction over $10 spent with a participating business until 20 December, shoppers will receive a rewards voucher to fill in and leave in one of the designated collection bins.
There are five major prizes to be won:
• $390 accommodation package from Willowbank at Taggerty B&B.
• $200 adventure tourism voucher from Lake Mountain Alpine Resort.
• $200 fuel voucher from The Igloo Roadhouse, Buxton.
• $200 voucher from Mystic Mountains Ski Hire, Narbethong.
• $200 grocery voucher from Marysville Foodworks.
Voucher collection bins will be located at the Visitor Information Centre in Marysville, Marysville Central, Lake Mountain Resort, Buxton General Store, The Igloo Roadhouse at Buxton, Taggerty General Store, and the Black Spur Roadhouse and the Black Spur Inn at Narbethong. There’s a month until Christmas, so shoppers can make their Christmas lists now and schedule in a day’s shopping in and around Marysville. They may rediscover the joy of Christmas shopping, with friendly faces, a relaxed shopping atmosphere … and no parking problems!
