MY WIFE and have just toured Victoria, places such as Trentham, Sale, Yarrawonga, Horsham and the Yarra Valley.
We stayed in the Yarra Valley region some six years ago and found the place just beautiful so we thought we would return and stay again. Yes we did do Maryville but I feel with what they went through we leave this area out.
We found Yarra Junction drab, old and tired shops closed down or will be back Wednesday.
Wesburn and oh for Warburton give this place a miss, as it has dropped back so much how in the hell will they ever get it up to what it was, it is very old and tired.
Last time we saw Warburton it was hard to get a place in the bar at the hotel, now all you have to talk to are the columns that hold it up.
We stayed in Warburton for three days why? I do not know as it was not the Warburton we knew.
Shops closed, cafe closed and up for sale, grass on the main road need cutting houses just left to determinate shame. The only place that was going a head was the bakery.
The council has done it part making new paving along the river bank the tennis club has planted trees but for the rest I?
Yes I am a South Australian and love going to Victoria as there is so much to see but when you see places like I have just mentioned just going to waste and loosing the tourism dollar it make you think what is going on with the area.
Hey Hahndorf in the Adelaide hills was like Warburton and they go an active group working and they have got what it is today.
People from overseas love going to Hahndorf. I am sure that if the Valley was made to what it was you would have people filling your places of accommodation, and you may have to wait to get a drink at the bar.
I am sure that if the people of the Yarra Valley got and active group going they could definitely get this region back to what it was, a lovely place to spend a holiday in the valley.
Sorry if people ask me what I thought of my trip it would be unjust of me to tell them the Yarra Valley is the place to see.
Best of luck to all in this region. And will return one day as we love this area.
