A WET weekend saw all Ferntree Gully and District Cricket Association senior and junior matches washed out.
All games will be re-scheduled next week as one day games, with senior matches starting at 12.45pm. One day grades will remain at the usual 1pm start.
Monbulk Cricket Club’s firsts, seconds, and thirds will play one-dayers next week, and the fourths have a bye. All teams will be re-selected on Thursday night.
Its huge Milo in2cricket crew – now at 111 kids – got in their session on Friday night, as did the ever improving Under 11s and Under 12s.
Monbulk played some cricket Saturday morning before the rain came, with its Under 15s and Under 13s both performing really well and in winning positions.
The Under 15s bowled out FTG Footballers/Rowville for 45, with Cameron Knoll taking 2/12 and Tom Horton-Crundall 2/19.
The Under 13s are currently 1/108 against Aura Vale, with Huxley Dousett retiring on 30, Raine Slattery making 25 and Daniel Cleary on 14 not out.
This Saturday 3 December, Monbulk will host a junior-senior awards night and barbecue starting at 6.30pm.
And Ian Callen has presented Monbulk’s Brodie Emmett with a new bat, pads and gloves.
Callen played for Victoria and even one test for Australia, and now owns and runs Callen Cricket.
