PAINTER Ying Tang and photographer Ivan Gaal have taken top honours in the 2014 Visage art competition at Warburton.
Ying Tan’s watercolour ‘Aunty Joan’s Smile’ took first prize in the 2D Open section and Mr Gaal’s portrait of Warburton identity Ron Howard ‘Ronnie is still dancing at 98’ won the photography section.
The works are part of the fifth Visage Exhibition hosted by the Upper Yarra Artisans and officially launched at the arts centre in Warburton on Saturday, 30 August.
UYA president Sandy Peeters said the 38 works represented a diverse selection of people of the Yarra Valley both as artists and as subjects, with a range of interpretations and styles adding to the depth of the exhibition.
The exhibition is on display until 24 September.
