MILLGROVE Hobbit fan Amy Earl flew out of Australia on Saturday to the land of the Hobbits – New Zealand. Amy is one of a handful of Australian fans of Middle-earth and 75 global winners of The Hobbit Fan Fellowship Contest promoting the third and final film in The Hobbit Trilogy – The Battle of the Five Armies, set for Boxing Day release. Amy, who is taking partner Adam Slater along to share the dream, said New Zealand had been at the top of her dream destination list since the Lord of the Rings films. “It will be great to share the experience with other big fans who will really understand the excitement,” she said. They will visit the Hobbiton movie set, walk in the footsteps of their heroes through Paradise and visit the site of the Pillar of Kings and, hopefully, meet director Peter Jackson at a special pre-release screening of the film.
