Trauma trails riders

A COUPLE riding on the Warburton Rail Trail on Saturday night were traumatised when a man pointed a gun at their heads and demanded money.
The couple, on holidays in Warburton, were riding their bikes on the trail around 10.30pm when they were stopped, just west of Scotchman’s Creek Road, by the man wielding a hand-gun.
“The man threatened the couple, demanding money while pointing the hand-gun at their heads,” Leading Senior Constable Don Trice,” said.
He said the man let them leave once he realised that they had no money, but added they were traumatised by the incident.
Leading Sen Const Trice said police were taking the incident very seriously and appealed for information.
The man was described as Caucasian, around 18 years of age, of slim build and with fair hair.
