P-plater pushed his limits

By JESSE GRAHAM

A P-PLATER will face a hefty impound fee after being caught travelling at more than twice the speed limit in Wandin North on Sunday night.

Yarra Ranges Highway Patrol officers detected a Nissan Patrol travelling north-east on Hunter Road in Wandin North at 6.55pm on Sunday 24 January, at a speed of 125 kilometres per hour.

The posted speed limit for the road is 60km/h, and police pulled over the car, driven by a 19-year-old Narre Warren North man.

The man’s car has been impounded, with a $997 towing and storage fee, and he is expected to be charged on summons for speeding offences.
