IT’S fright night aboard the Yarra Valley Railway Ghost Train this Halloween.
To celebrate the holiday, Yarra Valley Railway is calling all ghouls, goblins and ghosts to join them for a frightening journey through the Yarra Valley.
Dress up in your best Halloween frocks and experience a night of laughs, scares and more in a show that is truly one of a kind.
The night begins as soon as you step onto the railway platform with a haunted house sure to frighten before even boarding the train.
“From when you get on the train to when you get off there’s always something spooky happening,” says Brett Morton, president of the Yarra Valley Railway.
Running from Healesville to Tarrawarra winery, the round trip takes 45 minutes, but you’ll want to keep your eyes peeled as there’s sure to be some interesting sights along the way, promises Brett.
“It doesn’t just take place on the train, there’s also spooky things happening outside all along the ride,” he says.
With interactive roaming characters surprising those on the train and on the platform, the night is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.
Promising nervous laughter, entertainment and fun, Brett says it’s a great way to celebrate the spookiest holiday of the year.
“It’s really entertaining and a lot of fun, there’s dress ups, a few frights and some spooky happenings-it’s a great time,” he said.
To get into the spirit Yarra Valley Railway Refreshments cafe will be open all night running a day of the dead themed Mexican pop up cantina serving Mexican style dishes.
Shows will run on Friday 28 October from 8pm until midnight and on Saturday 29 October from 6pm until midnight. (On Saturday, 6pm, 7pm and 8pm trains will run in daylight for younger passengers with the 8pm train taking place during dusk.)
