Woman, 76, dies in crash

By Jesse Graham

Victoria Police has confirmed a 76-year-old Yarra Junction woman has died after a car accident this morning on the Healesville-Kooweerup Road, near Toolebewong Road just outside of Healesville.
The woman had been travelling towards Healesville when she veered off towards the opposite side of the road, before driving over an embankment and striking a tree.
Leading Senior Constable Tim Stewart said another driver passed the scene and alerted police to the accident at 9.27am.
Police, SES and CFA emergency services attended the scene.
Sen-Constable Stewart confirmed the woman had died as a result of the crash.
At this stage, he believed there may have been a medical issue involved, because there was no evidence of skid marks or attempt to brake.
However, investigations will continue.
Meanwhile, the stretch of road between Albert and Toolebewong roads will remain closed.
More as it comes.
