Name one place where you can check out your local history, get behind the wheel of a billy cart, have a shot at African drumming, secure your number plate, have a game of pool with a veteran and devour a homemade Devonshire tea, all on the same day!
Normally that would be a tough call, but Yarra Glen is pulling all those things together, and a whole lot more, at the Anzac Ave Community Open Day on Saturday, 10 February.
Community organisations located along Anzac Avenue in Yarra Glen will open their doors to give people an opportunity to engage with 10 organisations highlighting health, educational, social benefits and the important role each of them plays in the community.
Meet members of the Yarra Glen RSL, Historical Society, Toy Library, Seniors Citizens Group, CFA, Men’s Shed, Bowling Club, Living & Learning Centre, Tennis Club and Kindergarten who have put together a great program of free activities, general information and giveaways.
There will be coffee, ice cream and food vans in the car park next to the tennis courts, along with live music, a balloon twister and information on the activities each organisation is offering on the day.
The Anzac Ave Community Open Day, from 10am to 1pm, is a fun packed day for the whole family and a great way to meet and connect with other members of the Yarra Glen community.
For more information on the full range of activities on offer phone 9730 2887.
