Future looks bright

Saturday 23 June was another big weekend for the Yarra Valley Soccer Club at Millgrove.

The club hosted five homes games and also welcomed a visit from our local federal MP Tony Smith.

It’s was great to discuss our club and its future plans and hear some valuable advice from Mr Smith.

The club also thanked him for his recent support in protective fencing at Millgrove.

The morning kicked off with our Under 13s against Berwick.

The squad showed more improvement with Riley Ingwersen scoring in a 5-1 defeat.

Under 11s faced Blackburn and showed another strong performance ending with a tense 0-0 draw.

The club’s young ladies again showed great improvement and team work facing top-of-table Croydon, scoring 2 goals in a 7-2 loss.

The senior men’s reserves had a dominant display against top of table Maroondah United winning 5-0.

Two goals each to Findlay Kerridge and Zazen Horizon and 1 goal Mitch Rinke.

The men’s firsts team had a tough game against Knox with a 2-2 draw.

Goals to Aden Kerridge and Heath Mays.
