Crash at Fernshaw

A 76-year-old Yarra Valley woman has escaped without injury following a single car crash on Maroondah Highway, near Fernshaw east of Healesville this morning – 31 August.

Emergency services including SES, CFA, Police and Ambulance Victoria responded to the crash which happened at around 11.30am.

Sergeant Stewart Thompson of Healesville Police said the woman driver was coming into a corner when she lost control in the wet and hit an embankment, flipping the car onto its roof.

She was able to get out of the car and was being taken to Maroondah Hospital for observation.

Tow trucks were on the scene shortly after the crash with minimum road closure.
