Return to market

The Yarra Valley Farmer’s Market is set to return as the Yarra Valley Regional Food Group (YVRFG) announced the monthly event will be moving from Yering Station to Punt Road Winery from November.

The YVRFG, who notched up their 20th birthday bac in 2018, are responsible for the oldest and longest running farmer’s market in Victoria.

Chairperson and market co-ordinator Frances Caltieri said the committee and stallholders are looking forward to holding their first market in November, at the new location.

“The past few months have been very hard on the stallholders and public, as our markets have had to be postponed due to Covid-19, so we are delighted that our market is able to run again on Sunday 15 November, at our beautiful new location – Punt Road Winery.

“We’re looking forward to seeing our usual loyal customers again and hopefully meeting some new ones too – Punt Road is a fantastic central spot for our market’s new home and it’s easy for people to find being virtually on the Maroondah Highway.

“Surrounded by their orchards and vineyards, it means their grounds are lovely too – so, people can enjoy wandering and shopping among our gorgeous stalls, have a bite to eat on the lawn, maybe even do a tasting at the cellar door and the kids can challenge one another to a game of bocce on the court.”

The Yarra Valley stallholders sell oils, jams, preserves, sauces, olives, herbs, spices, eggs, flowers, bread, honey, garlic, cakes, biscuits, fresh berries, vegies, handmade pottery and timber work. All of it is locally grown and made, plus gourmet foods are cooked and prepared right in front of you.

The Yarra Valley Farmer’s Market is held on the 3rd Sunday of every month, from 9am to 1.30pm at Punt Road Wines, 10 St Huberts Rd, Coldstream. The first market back will be on Sunday 15 November.
