The Healesville Biggest Morning Tea was a delightful fundraising event for attendees today.

The annual fundraiser, held by Le Pines Funeral Home and supported by Tarrawarra CWA, has been on hold for the past two years, but many were grateful to see it’s return.

Residents from across the Yarra Ranges LGA attended the event, despite numbers being down from previous years.

Guests were treated to many baked goods and sweet treats contributed by the CWA members, who also served hot beverages which were enjoyed by all.

The CWA joins the event in honour of past president Maria Graham who died from breast cancer.

Attendee Anne Holland said it’s great to get back to some sort of normality.

“Anything fundraising for cancer we like to support,” Ms Holland said.

The event is raising funds for the Cancer Council and research, with many of the guests touched by the disease in some way.

“I’ve been a nurse and I saw lots of people with cancer and that sort of thing and I knew somebody who had leukaemia that was very sad,” attendee Veronica Ireland said.

“I had a cancer on my arm removed there but it was benign.”

Jenny Smith from Le Pines said they were grateful for everyone who came to support a good cause.

“It was good to get back into the swing of things and hopefully this will contribute to be annual event going forward in the future,” Ms Smith said.

“It was a lovely morning and so many lovely things the CWA ladies made.”
