Healesville Rotary and Healesville Lions Club have come together once again to sprinkle some Christmas magic through the Healesville main street.

Decorations have now been installed on the light posts for the festive season.

It’s something small but it makes a huge impact for the community and it’s a way that the two clubs can give back.

Rotary and the Lions both financially support the decorations, looking after storage and refurbishments.

Rotary member and past president Robert Chippindall said they aim to have every light post decorated next year.

“It’s something for the community… when we’re putting them up the amount of people that will stop and say good on you for doing it,” Mr Robert Chippindall said.

“Healesville is a beautiful town and it’s a nice place to live in so we like to do something like this,” Lions Club president Bert Bresser said.

Shops are also encouraged to dress up their windows to spread the Christmas cheer a further, with even a little bit of decorating going a long way to making the town look festive.

The best dressed can win a prize as Rotary is once again holding its best Christmas window competition.

In the competition’s sixth year as it takes on the form of a local tradition.

The winners will be chosen through the community’s participation, with shoppers encouraged to nominate their favourite display through the Healesville Rotary Club’s website.

The winners will be calculated by the number of nominations received and the committee’s votes.
