The CFA has issued a community information message for the Dixons Creek and Toolangi area for present smoke haze.

Firefighters are undertaking back burning activities on the southeast side of the Flowerdale-Spring Valley Rd fire, in the vicinity of Minto Rd and Barina Heights.

Due to the increased northerly wind speeds, this will result in smoke being visible in the community for the next few days.

Smoke is also being reported to be coming through to the Yarra Glen area.

There is no immediate threat to the community and no action is required.

Those who may be affected by smoke are being warned to take care in those areas.

People with pre-existing lung or heart conditions should rest as much as possible and keep away from the smoke.

Minimise smoke exposure by reducing your level of exercise during smoky conditions.

If practical, stay indoors and keep windows closed until the smoke passes.

People experiencing symptoms due to smoke exposure should seek medical advice or call NURSE-ON-CALL on 1300 60 60 24
