Planned burns scheduled in Yarra Valley

If weather and forest conditions are suitable, Forest Fire Management Victoria firefighters will ignite the following planned burns in the Yarra Valley this week.

Dixons Creek – Paul Range State Forest, PFF Track (187 hectares)

Gembrook – Bunyip State Park, Back Creek Road (15 hectares)

Toolangi – Paul Range State Forest, Glenwood Track (120 hectares)

Several tracks within Paul Range State Forest and Bunyip State Park will be closed while these burns are underway.

Please follow the direction of the crews if in the area for your safety.

Aircraft will be active in Dixons Creek and Toolangi while the burns take place.

Planned burns help reduce the size and intensity of bushfires across the landscape.

They assist firefighters to safely defend life and property and help reduce the impact on our forest flora and fauna.

Locals may see or smell smoke.

Watch for firefighters and follow their directions.
