It’s going to be a cool and wet Anzac Day in the Yarra Ranges, the weather reflecting the sombre and solemn mood of the day.
Dean Narramore, The Bureau’s Senior Meteorologist, forecasts a mix of weather conditions for the day but states it will be “pretty wet.”
“We’re going to see a cold front and low move into the state, and that’s going to bring showers and thunderstorms pretty much from early morning right through the day and into the night,” he says.
The meteorologist predicts the region will be “wet and stormy” with temperatures fluctuating “into the high teens to low 20s.”
For those attending dawn services, it is expected to be a chilly 14-degree morning with “just a slight chance of a shower”, however, Narramore warns to “check the radar before you head out if you need a brolly or an umbrella.”
“They’ll become more widespread from mid-morning” says Narramore and “can increase to rain during the afternoon and evening.”
It is best to be well prepared for the unpredictable Melbournian weather and to rug up in warm clothes with an umbrella handy.
