A week of upsets

Warburton Bowls Club’s Tuesday Midweek team played Boronia 1 away in excellent weather conditions.

The side lost its first game for the season, 42 to 64.

Rink scores were as follows: P.Summers 13/17, R.McKail 21/18 and G.Broussard 8/29.

In challenging weather conditions on Saturday, Warburton 1 played top side Burden Park 1 at home and recorded an 84 to 64 victory.

Rink scores were as follows: B.Woods 18/18, P. Woods 13/22, J.Brookes 21/15 and J.Van Der Zweep 32/19.

Warburton 2 also played the top side, Ferntree Gully 3, at home and secured a convincing 90 to 51 win.

Rink scores were as follows: B.Hall 16/21, T.Appleton 32/9, P.Summers 20/13 and G.Wynd 22/8.

Warburton 3 (6-a-side) travelled away to City of Heidelberg 4 and fought valiantly before going down 36 to 42.

Rink scores were as follows: N.Donohue 29/12 and M.Van Meurs 7/30.

The Wednesday Night Barefoot Bowls Competition will commence shortly, with new teams welcome.
