THE owner of 20 fruit trees valued at about $500 and stolen from a Chum Creek property is appealing to people with information about the theft to contact Healesville Police.
Michael Feller planted the trees, which include apple, pear, plum, nectarine, peach, lemon, lime and apricot varieties, to establish an orchard before building a home on the property.
The recently pruned trees were stolen in August.
Mr Feller said they may have been planted out or sold and is asking that anyone who recently bought pruned fruit trees, other than from a nursery, or who has observed the overnight appearance of an orchard, to notify police.
Healesville Police can be contacted on 5962 4422.
