Monbulk MP and Victorian Emergency Services Minister James Merlino has issued a caution for resident to heed warnings over flood conditions.
“It’s going to be a challenging three days for our emergency services, with severe weather predicted across the state with risks of flash flooding and riverine flooding.
“A severe weather warning is in place for heavy rainfall from today for most of Victoria, and Metropolitan Melbourne will be affected as well.
“Everyone should carefully plan their activities today and into the weekend. Postpone non-essential travel on roads as flooding may occur.
“Victorians need to regularly check weather forecasts, rainfall totals and river levels and be ready to take action.
“Don’t walk, ride or drive through flood water, Stay clear of creeks and storm drains and please don’t take unnecessary risks.
“The State Control Centre is activated and running in support of the severe weather expected across Victoria.“
