A RARE car worth more than $200,000 was stolen from a Yarra Glen tourist attraction on Saturday, and police are calling for witnesses to come forward.
Sometime between 1.45pm and 2.15pm on Saturday, 9 April, a rare 1970 Ford Falcon GTHO was stolen from the carpark of the Yarra Glen Chocolaterie.
Yarra Glen Police Sergeant, Richard Coulson, said the “extremely rare” car was worth more than $200,000, and that the thieves likely followed the owner to the Chocolaterie to take the car.
The car is orange/red coloured and bears club registration plates of 43143H.
Anyone who may have seen any suspicious behaviour around the time of the theft, or who has spotted the car, is asked to call Yarra Glen Police on 9730 1296 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
