Man critical, woman serious in horror crash

By Jesse Graham

A WOMAN was flown to hospital and a man remains in a critical condition after a serious crash in Tarrawarra yesterday, with detectives investigating the incident.
Police believe a gold Land Rover Discovery, driven by a 75-year-old Healesville man, was travelling east on Healesville-Yarra Glen Road when it crossed onto the wrong side of the road about 3.45pm on Monday 12 September.
It then hit a Volkswagen Beetle travelling in the other direction.
The driver of the Volkswagen, a 33-year-old Horsham woman, was airlifted to a Melbourne hospital with serious injuries, while her passenger – a 31-year-old Horsham man – was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
As of noon on Tuesday 13 September, he remains in a critical condition, and Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the crash.
Anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or either of the vehicles prior to the crash, is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or to file a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
