Woori Community House has received a tech upgrade in the form of a new printer and computers.
The community house held an IT launch on Wednesday 28 August to celebrate the occasion with members of Woori Yallock District Community Bank, who helped fund the new equipment.
Woori Community House program coordinator Simone Roberts said, “Today we’re launching our new technology upgrade… We’ve got new printing facilities as well as public computers that people can come in and use.
“We offer low cost printing and photocopying to members of the community, so having an update in the technology has been amazing.
“The public can come in and use our computers and internet. We’ve got Wi-Fi they can use as well.”
Coincidentally, the upgrade comes almost exactly ten years to the day of the community house receiving their last IT upgrade on August 26 2009.
Woori Community House Coordinator Sonja Mazar said, “All our photocopiers were quite old and printing with shadows and all sorts of things. So funding to update all of our equipment has been absolutely fantastic.”
The Woori Community House services five towns in the Yarra Valley region, many of which can be isolated due to poor internet and telephone reception.
Local business Technology2You provided the equipment as well as installation and ongoing support for the community house.
