Hoddles Creek will need strong reply

RA Finger Trophy matches in round five saw Gruyere Districts bat first against long time rivals Hoddles Creek and at stumps were 5/271 with Luke Sarre 79 not out and M Tilney 46 not out while Sean Lowe reached 61 earlier on in the innings. Hoddles Creek will need to bat well to reach this score against a strong Gruyere attack.
Launching Place United are hosting Yarra Glen at Wickhams Road and the visitors batted first reaching 247 Jason Watkins 163, Andrew Hoare 4/36 and Stuart Parker 3/16.
In a close match, Marysville were dismissed for just 99 (A. Clarke 29, J. Morgan 7/29) but has Kinglake 7/109 when they declared. Brenton Styles made 43 while Jason Harrow took 4/24. Marysville in their second innings are 2/31 at stumps on day one.
In the first division of the DJ Strachan Shield Seville are at home to Coldstream with Coldstream first to make use of the wicket. They were dismissed for 106 with Seville’s Dean Troyahn bowling well with 4 for 9 in 14 overs. Seville in reply at stumps are 3/129 with Tim Dwyer on 53
Wandin travelled to Warburton and batted first in what was a dismal disply by being dismissed for just 50 runs, Michael Walker taking 5 for 26, Luke Darwell 4/9 while Wandins’ Wayne Ross fought well to be undefeated on 26.
Warburton-Millgrove in reply are 4/97 with Liam Barnard on 34 not out Luke Darwall 30, while Gary Frankovic has bowled well to have 3 for 11 from 15 overs.
Mt Evelyn scored 133 with Brad Jones scoring 27, F Spackman 4/56 ,Rob Williams 4/31. Yarra Panthers who have lost 6 wickets (no actual innings scores recieved) Max Clemmins on 25 not out Kane Jones 4 for 16.
Yarra Junction were all out for 241 against Woori Yallock. Dan Lever with 37, D Edwards 32 and Ben Lever 31 contributed to the score while Andrew Sharp took 6/99 for Woori Yallock at Yarra Junction.
In the final game, Healesville were 3/23 S Lovell 3/15 in reply to Silvan who were all out for 189, the leading run makers for Silvan being Stuart Reynolds with 44, Chris Reynolds 39, Glenn Newbury took 5/55 and Darren Edwards 4/38 in a twin display for Healesville with the ball.
