Final fours set for battle

THE final home and away round was completed on Saturday, with the final fours being completed in all grades
In the Strachan Shield, Mt Evelyn retained second place on the ladder after defeating Seville. They scored 7/194cc with Ben Theile 74, Luke Jones 45 and Andrew Kay 4/61. Fourth placed Seville managed only 186 with Richard Dicello 51 and Michael Dicello 48 not out.
The bowling for Mt Evelyn was shared around with Paul Miutescu 3/35, Shane Luck 3/41 and Jon Dalton 3/49 all bowling well.
Woori Yallock finished the season with a strong score 9/231cc led by a wonderful century from Andrew Sharp with 140 but this was not enough as they lost to Wandin with 7/238cc with Wayne Ross and Scott Hasan scoring 82 and 77 respectively.
Healesville retained top spot with a win over Warburton, posting 9/201cc with Glen Powell scoring 84. Michael Walker 3/67 then dismissed Warburton Millgrove for 166.
Coldstream all out for 86 (Mark Appleby 4/42) lost to Silvan who scored 8/362cc with M. Vanderwolf’s unbeaten century. Gary Frankervic contributed with 81.
Yarra Panthers 160 was not enough to win against Yarra Junction, who scored 227. Nathan Fall 5/71 and James Rogers 4/16 bowled well for Junction and Kevin Bomford 110 held up the batting.
The Strachan Shield semi final commencing next Saturday will see Healesville play Seville and Mt Evelyn face Silvan. Venues will be decided and confirmed at a YVCA meeting on Monday evening.
In the RA Finger Trophy, Gruyere easily accounted for Launching Place to retain top ladder position. Gruyere declared at 2/274 with B. Irvine amassing 156 and R. Assmacher with 65 not out and beat Launching Place who only managed 8/85. Luke Sarre 4/42 and Matt Tilney 3/42 bowled well for Gruyere.
Kinglake was all out for 169 with David McMahon scoring 44. Jess Ridd 3/26 did the damage for Hoddles Creek who scored 252 to win. B. Derix scored 120. D. McMahon bowled well bagging 5/89.
Aura Vale 86 lost to Yarra Glen 5/92.
Powelltown 6/260 accounted for Marysville 155 and 8/153cc. With this win Powelltown edged into the final four.
