Focus on volunteers at expo

VOLUNTEERING will go on show at Lillydale Lake in November and the Shire of Yarra Ranges is calling for … volunteers!
The shire is calling for expressions of interest from organisations wishing to exhibit at its first Volunteers Expo and from groups wishing to provide food stalls as fundraising ventures.
The expo aims to highlight the services of volunteer organisations and to encourage residents and visitors to consider joining up as volunteers.
The expo will take place at Lillydale Lake Park on Sunday, 11 November, from 11am to 3pm.
Yarra Ranges mayor Tim Heenan, who suggested the expo, praised the contribution of volunteers and encouraged volunteer organisations to take part.
“The Volunteers Expo will give our volunteer organisations the opportunity to display their wares, feature their services, and recruit more helpers,” Cr Heenan said.
“It’s the best opportunity we have ever had to put our volunteers in the spotlight and show our residents what they do and how they operate.”
