Catch the action, excitement

Head out and experience the incredible atmosphere that only country racing delivers.

RACING commences in Healesville on Derby Day (31 October) and there are six races this season (Derby Day, 21 November, 12 December, Healesville Cup on 9 January, 30 January and 2 April).
The local race meets still represent the most affordable family day out at the races, where adults are $10 ($5 concession) and Under 18s are free.
Spring racing is a great way to catch up with friends and family, while enjoying the outdoor environment and the incredible atmosphere that only country racing delivers.
With plenty of lawn space and many shaded areas, the Healesville racecourse is the perfect setting for a family picnic.
There is always a feeling of being close to the action, wherever you are around the course, adding to the excitement and pleasure of the picturesque setting.
There are full bar facilities at local pub prices, TAB, bookies and free children’s entertainment, with pony rides, a bouncing castle, animal farm and swing chairs.
There are also canteen facilities and gourmet coffee available.
Don’t forget the traditional children’s run up the straight, where everyone is a winner.
For parents and grandparents, there is great shade under the mighty Oak trees by the Watts river, where you can lay out a rug and you can pack a picnic and self-cater with BYO or hire a marquee and have it all catered (see www.healesvilleraces.com.au).
Membership is also a great way to save even more, with a season ticket costing only $50 for a member and guest pass for six meetings (you can join on any race day).
The racing is keen at the Flemington of the Bush and there is a punters club where you can let the experts pick your winners while you sip champagne under the oaks.
