Seniors – Steve Pascoe Shield

Wantirna South 2nd XI def Healesville 1st XI (Walker Reserve, Wantirna South)

Healesville won the toss and elected to bat. Healesville managed to post a respectable total of 6/164 from their 40 overs thanks to B. D’Amore no 60 and J. Handasyde 27 continuing their consistency with the bat. The game went down to the last over with Wantirna South manging to pass Healesville’s total with 5 balls to spare to finish at 5/168 with B. D’Amore also performing with the ball 3/47 off 8 overs and A.Pearce 1/19 off 8 overs.

B Grade – Don Smith Shield

Healesville 2nd XI def by East Ringwood 3rd XI (Queens Park, Healesville)

Healesville won the toss and elected to bowl. East Ringwood got off to a great start with an opening partnership of 89 before Healesville managing to finally get the break throughafter letting several chances slip early. East Ringwood went on to post a very respectable 4/183 off their 35 overs on a Queens Park surface significantly slower than previous weeks. Captain M. Jackson the pick of the bowlers with 2/23 of his 7 overs. Healesville came out to bat with a big task in front of them and really struggled to get going losing wickets early. M. Davern came to the wicket at 3/26 and after being dropped early look like making East Ringwood pay with some very clean hitting before holing out in the deep to top score with 25. Healesville went on to collapse to find themselves 9/87 in only the 22nd over. H. Baxter and T. Handasyde the went on post a very impressive 41 run partnership for last wicket and take the game to the 34th over before East Ringwood finally manged to get the last wicket. Healesville finally all out 128.

M1 Grade – Ian Dench Shield

East Ringwood 4th XI def Healesville 3rd XI (East Ringwood Reserve ,Fred Hodgkins Oval)

Healesville won the toss and elected to bat. Healesville got off to a bit of a shaky start to find themselves 5/52 in the in the 16th over before a 51 run partnership between M. Fawdry 41 and R.Dash 31 settled the ship and help Healesville to finish up with a total of 149. Healesville started well with ball with Captain S.Fawdry getting a wicket with the first ball of the second over to have East Ringwood 1/1. East Ringwood then went on to post another 73 before the next wicket and finally passing Healesvilles total in the 34th over and finish at 6/154. Despite not taking a wicket young D.English the pick of the bowlers with 0/4 off his 6 overs.

Yarra Valley Hub (Greg Mitchell Shield)

Healesville 4th XI def Yarra Junction 4th XI (Don Road No. 2, Healesville)

Yarra Junction won the toss and sent Healesville into bat.Healesville in trouble early with S. Dennett falling in the first over before D. Plunkett and M. Cooper steading the ship and Healesville going on to post an impressive total of 8/197 through several good partnerships including a wonderful last partnership of 52 from a couple of of our promising Junior players R.Cameron 34no and S.Drummond 11no. Top scorers J.Kay 44 and M.cooper 41. With an impressive total on the board Healesville were always in control of the match and bowled Yarra Junction out in 26th over for 68 to win by 129 runs. Best of the bowlers J.Kay 3/5 off 3 overs and B.Louw3/6 off 4 overs.

Juniors

Both U12 teams where due to resume the season this Friday night but due to the severe storms all game were cancelled.

SEDA Under 14-5

Healesville def Mount Evelyn (Queens Park, Healesville)

Healesville won the toss and sent Mount Evelyn in to bat. Against a much improved Mount Evelyn form their last encounter Healesville where very good with ball and in the field and bowled Mount Evelyn out in 17.5 overs for 58 with the best of the bowlers D.Parsons 3/4 2.5 overs and A.English2/9 2 overs. Healesville came out to bat and put together a very tidy innings with several good partnerships to finish up 7/128 of their 25 overs and secure a comfortable win. Best of the batters D.English 33no and B.Ralis 19.

Under 16-2 (John Springett Shield)

Vermont def by Healesville (Vermont Recreation Reserve,Vermont)

Vermont won the toss and elected to bat. Vermont werealways in control with their first 4 batsman all retiring not out after facing their 25 balls and Healesville didn’t manage to get their first wicket till the score was on 87. Vermont going on to post a total of 3/125 of their 25 overs. Pick of the bowlers J.Handasyde 1/16 off 3.1 overs and E.Nikcevich 1/14 off 3.5 overs. Healesville put up a reasonably good effort with the bat but ultimately struggled to get to Vermont’s total falling 32 runs short to finish up on 7/93 off their 25 overs. Best of the batters J.Handasyde 19no and C.Nyko 20.
