Under 10 Healesville v Seville – by Owen Morcombe

This week the U10’s took on Seville 2 at Seville. Runs were hard to come by but that didn’t stop Alby Gotch & Eli Keath both clocking up six runs each. This was followed by the partnership between Milo Jackson, with 8 runs , Reggie Morcombe, with 6 runs. Top scorers, Nate Adams and Rory Jackson finished strong with 9 runs each. On the field, Nate Adams celebrated taking the first wicket for the match which was matched by Rory Jackson also taking a wicket on the night. However, nothing could stop star bowler for the match with Eli Keath taking two wickets.

Under 12-9 Healesville 6/110 defeated Yarra Junction 4/84 – by Adam Keath

A return to the winners circle for the Healesville U12-9’s on Friday. Batting first, aggressive running between the wickets whilst costing us a couple of run outs resulted in a score of 6/110 off 23 overs. Louis Keath top scored with 24 and Manny Winrow the only other to hit double figures with 10. It was our disciplined bowling and energetic fielding after Yarra junction jumped to 1/50 off 9 overs that got us back into the game. Louis Keath finishing with 1/2, Finn Coleman 1/8 and two great direct hit run outs by Cruz Augello and Declan Kruize restricted Junction to 84. A game played in great spirit and enjoyed by all.

Under 12-4 Healesville 5/132 defeated Chirnside Park 5/89

After our captain for the day Taylor Caldicott won the toss and sent Chirnside into bat. Raff Morcombe (1/4) took an early wicket but then some good batting from R Nair 18* and F Johnson 27* allowed Chirnside Park to accumulate 5/89 off their 25 overs. Healesville lost an early wicket but Raff Morcombe smashed 63 off 30 balls that included 11 boundries and a six. Great contributions from Taylor Caldicott (14), Archie Hempel (14*) and Endo Gotch (13*) enable Healesville to score 5/132. Well done team!

Under 14 Healesville 4/83 versus Mt Evelyn 6/100 (Day 1 of a 2 day split innings game) – by Liam English

A great bowling effort by the team with Gus Morocombe taking 3/15. Healesville has batted well so far with Elijah Prentice making 28 not out and will hopefully make a few more runs to set a defendable total when Mt Evelyn come back in to bat again

Under 16 Healesville 5/84 versus Hoddles Creek/Wandin 3/77 (Day 1 of a 2 day split innings game) – by Lucas Parker

Healesville won the toss and chose to bowl. Megan and Riley opened the bowling. Megan took an early wicket within the first 4 overs making Hoddles Creek/Wandin 1/14 off the first 6 overs. Hoddles Creek/Wandin put on a partnership of 20 before losing another wicket, by the end of there 25 overs Hoddles Creek/Wandin 3/77. Healesville then batted and lost an early wicket before putting on 57 with Blake making 32 runs and than lost another wicket. Denzel then retired after facing his 50 balls. Healesville passed Hoddles Creek/Wandin score with in the 23rd over. Healesville will continue batting next with a score of 5/84.

Seniors 1st XI – Healesville 3/65 versus South Warrandyte 70 (Day 1 of a 2 day game) – by Josh Handasyde

This Saturday, Healesville 1st XI travelled to South Warrandyte to face of against the 2nd placed South Warrandyte Hawks. The bloods won the toss and elected to bowl on the small, but extremely slow ground and the decision proved to be the right one with a first over wicket from Liam English. The bloods continued their fast start with debutant Riley Cameron (3/17) taking a further 3 wickets to leave South Warrandyte 4/20. The bloods continued to bowl well with Michael Jackson 2/9 and Dillon Kerr 4/23 rolling through the South Warrandyte batting line up to bowl them out for 70. The bloods then went in to bat and slowly went at chasing down the runs and thanks to Ash Hamer 38*, the bloods are 3/65 at the close of play only requiring 6 runs next week for the win with 7 wickets in hand

Seniors 2nd XI – Healesville 2/150 defeated Woori Yallock/Launching Place – 10/149– by Ethan Nikcevich

On a sunny day at Queens Park Woori Yallock/Launching Place won the toss and elected to bat, both openers were dismissed early by Luke Chandler and Scott Fawdry, Rod Huma came to the crease and smashed 104 out of the teams 149, until he was dismissed by Brodie Grace. Moss Fawdry cleaned up the tail finishing with 4/16. Tom Handasyde continued to prove himself, carrying his bat yet again to 60*, Harry Baxter scored 35 picking up his highest score so far, Luke Chandler finished it off with a quick 27 including a massive six. Healesville continues the undefeated record moving to 4-0 with another massive win

Seniors 3rd XI – Healesville 67 defeated by Warranwood 6/72 – by Sam Drummond

Healesville’s 3rd XI batted first against Warranwood, hoping to make a handsome tally of runs. David Plunkett and Samuel Dennett opened the batting. Sam Dennett was dismissed early with a total of 3 runs, sending James Schutz out to bat. Dave and James built up a small partnership before Dave was dismissed for 10. The wickets then began to fall fast with Joe Kay and Vinnie Plunkett being dismissed. Elijah Prentice then came to the crease, staying in for a while and making 9 runs. James was finally caught with the top score of 20 runs. Samuel Drummond was stumped for 3 runs. Tom Dalley, Peter Nolan and Shannon Maile all went out for a few runs, making Tom Robinson the not out batsman. Healesville was all out for 67 runs. Warranwood then came out to bat, hoping to claim victory with overs to spare. However, on the first ball, L Bryant was run out for a diamond duck. James Schutz ended up with the best bowling figures with 3/4 off 7 overs. The wickets steadily fell and Warranwood was on the ropes with half of their batters being dismissed before drinks break. However, M Williams and L Walker steadied the ship, making a good partnership. In the end, A Moore and W Berryman saw Warranwood to victory with 5 overs to spare. Congratulations to Warranwood and good luck to the 3rd XI next week.

Seniors 4th XI – Healesville 2/144 defeated Yarra Junction 137 – by Paul Parsons

Healesville 4ths travelled to Wesburn to play Yarra Junction on Saturday afternoon. Junction batted well and put on 137. Denzel Parsons got us off to a good start with a great one hander at cover off the bowling of Sam Keith. Denzel then went on to take 5 wickets and nearly a hat trick with a ball that beat the batsman but just went over the stumps. Tyler Braden is starting to find some rhythm with his bowling and took 2 for 15. When it was Healesville’s time to bat Grant Braden and Owen Morcombe (c) got us off to a flyer with 5 sixes and 8 fours between them. Owen made a well crafted 50 and Healesville declared at the end of the 18th over with 144 already on the board.There were a couple of examples of really good sportsmanship from Healesville which made it an enjoyable game of cricket all round.
