ROCHFORD’S Opera Under the Stars on Saturday 7 March will help raise funds for the Victorian Bushfire Appeal.
Tania de Jong AM, co-producer of Opera under the Stars and founding member of Pot-Pourri, who will perform favourites from opera and music theatre, said while the event had already been committed as a fund-raiser for the Alannah and Madeline Foundation and Australian Childhood Foundation they would do everything possible to help the
Bushfire Appeal by raising additional contributions on the night.
Director of Rochford Wines, Mr Helmut Konecsny also pledged Rochford’s ongoing support for such fundraisers.
“These horrific bushfires have had a profound affect on so many people, in this district and beyond, that will resonate for years to come. Our hope is that people will return to the Yarra Valley and support the community.
“Rochford Wines will continue to host uplifting and positive events in the region, such as Opera under the Stars, especially when there is the opportunity to raise funds for such worthy causes.”
Opera under the Stars will feature sensational Australian songsters Pot-Pourri, showcasing the highlights and humour of opera and music theatre including Madam Butterfly, Rigoletto, Carmen, Turandot, Lakme,
The Pearl Fishers, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Chicago, Cats, Westside Story plus favourite songs of Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, The Three Tenors and lots more. Plus Australia’s brightest emerging chamber group, The Yarra Trio.
Profits of sales of Pot-Pourri CDs sold on the night will be donated to the bushfire appeal.
Bookings are through Rochford on 5962 2119.
