There’s a run for everyone

MARK the date on those calendars for the annual Warburton Fun Run on Sunday 26 February.
This year’s events include a 2km kids’ run, 5km walk, and 5km and 10km fun runs.
Now in its seventh year, the 2012 Warburton Fun Run is gearing up to be one of the most successful yet.
For the novice or the expert, many participants return each year to enjoy the spectacular scenery Warburton has to offer, a beautiful course and the very generous prizes on offer, which are donated by traders from Warburton and the Yarra Valley.
The Warburton Fun Run is one of the few events that also includes a special family entry price. Race organisers believe it is important that the event continues to be affordable for families to enjoy as well as promoting healthy lifestyles for families.
Due to erosion and collapse of the river bank and ramps on the east side of the river, this year the 2km kids run, 5km walk and the 5km fun run course will change slightly with an out and back trip twice over the famous Redwood swing bridge.
The 5km walk and 2km kids run start at 8am followed by the 5km and 10km fun runs at 9.30am.
Enter online at www.warburtonupandrunning.com.au, but be quick to register as entries are limited to 500. Entry forms are also available at local gyms for those without internet access.
On the day entries will only be accepted if the capacity has not been reached.
