Gala day for All Abilities

MONBULK Rangers Soccer Club is helping people with a disability to get in the game.
The club has called on Access for All Abilities Yarra Ranges to help it develop opportunities for more people with disabilities in the hills to play soccer.
On March 3, the Rangers will hold a free soccer gala day for prospective players of any age and ability.
The event will feature a skill development session, games, an exhibition game between Monbulk Rangers’ Kookaburras and Doveton Special Soccer School, and a free sausage sizzle. Watching Doveton Special Soccer School in action on last year’s International Day for People with an Intellectual Disability further inspired Monbulk to pave the pathway to a more inclusive club.
Sport and Recreation Victoria funds Access for All Abilities to get more people with disabilities taking part in sport and recreation.
YMCA Victoria community development officer Jacinda Erich delivers Access for All Abilities in the Yarra Ranges.
The gala day is at Monbulk Recreation Reserve, Moores Road, Monbulk.Email treasurer@monbulkrangers.org.au or call Karen on 9752 0203 or 9415 9440 for more information.
