Beat that 205km/h
A MOTORCYCLIST caught hooning in Castella last week lost his ride immediately, after being clocked at over 200 kilometres per hour.
The motorcyclist, a 24-year-old Epping Man, was caught travelling at 205 km/h along Healesville-Kinglake Road around 11am on Saturday 17 May.
The rider was travelling at 105 kilometres per hour over the 100 kilometre limit on the road, and his motorbike was impounded immediately by the Yarra Ranges Highway Patrol under hoon legislation.
The Epping man is expected to be charged with speeding dangerously and for exceeding the speed limit.

Ultra luxury car stolen
POLICE are calling for Yarra Ranges residents to keep an eye out for a stolen car that was taken from Ringwood earlier this month.
The car, a white $80,000 Ford FPV-GT, was stolen from a dealership in Ringwood on Friday 2 May at 3.40pm.
A 33-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested on Monday 19 May in relation to the theft, after a police pursuit in another car – but the whereabouts of the Ford remain unknown.
The registration of the missing car is TRY-888.
Police are asking anyone with information about the car to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppers.com.au.

Hit-run in car park
HEALESVILLE police want to hear from witnesses to a hit-run collision in Coles car park at Healesville around noon on Wednesday 21 May.
Leading Senior Constable Tim Stewart said the driver of a vehicle reversed out of a parking spot, taking out the driver’s side of another car and drove off.
He said the driver was a male, probably in his 60s and the car was green, possibly a Holden Jackaroo with a silver bull-bar.
The owner of the damaged car, an older lady from Launching Place, had only recently bought it.
“We have it on CCTV, but people must have seen it and we would like to hear from them,” Sen Const Stewart said.
Anyone with information can phone Healesville police on 5962 4422, or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Battery packs set van ablaze
A DRIVER in Healesville is set to be thousands of dollars out-of-pocket, after their van caught fire just outside of town last week.
Healesville CFA crews were called to the burning van on the Maroondah Highway, just outside the old fruit and vegetable stall shed at 2.10pm on Friday 23 May.
“From what we can see so far, a gentleman was charging battery packs in his vehicle off his battery,” CFA Member, George Trumble said.
“They obviously got too hot and ignited the vehicle.”
Even though the fire took only a few minutes to be extinguished, Mr Trumble said the vehicle could be a write off, with around $2000 or $3000 in estimated damage.
He said the method of charging batteries from the car battery was unusual, but that the owner had been contacted, and that the matter would be followed up with the police.

A 41-YEAR-OLD Healesville man will face court, and a 28-year-old man from Heathmont has had his licence cancelled after Healesville police caught them for a range of offences on Thursday night, 22 May.
The Healesville man, driving on a cancelled licence, recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.079 when he was picked up in Healesville. He will be charged on summons to appear at Ringwood Magistrates’ Court for driving while disqualified and drink driving offences.
The visitor was intercepted on the Warburton Highway at Millgrove doing 101km/h in a 60km/h zone. He also blew over the prescribed limit, recording 0.132. His licence was automatically revoked for 19 months and he was issued with fines, totalling $1155.
