INFLUENTIAL Australian songwriter, Shane Howard, will take centre stage at Montrose Town Centre for the launch of Yarra Ranges Council’s program of arts and cultural events for 2015.
Culture Tracks covers performance, music, exhibitions, workshops and movies at the council’s cultural centres at Montrose, Healesville, Lilydale, Warburton, Upwey, and Mooroolbark.
The program includes performance pieces such as Kelly, More Female Parts, Gallipoli and First Things First, musicians including C. W. Stoneking, The Grigoryan Brothers and James Morrison, and exhibitions that showcase a rich vein of local talent, along with regional and national exhibitions.
Shane Howard’s credentials as the artist behind Goanna and the anthemic song ‘Solid Rock’, have established a legion of fans, but the launch will see fresh songs by Howard inspired by the Great Southern Ocean from his new album Deeper South.
Audiences can expect a night of soulful stories from the wilds of South West Victoria, delivered by an artist who has spent 30 years capturing a unique side of the Australian spirit.
