A WESBURN man has been taken by ambulance to Maroondah Hospital with minor burns after being trapped inside his burning home early Thursday morning 15 October.

Twelve CFA fire trucks attended the scene along Warburton Highway, at about 4am, and rescued the man, which the CFA said was a difficult task due to high fuel loads and gas bottles in the vicinity.

CFA said firefighters took one hour to control the blaze, but were unable to save the man’s house, a shed and four vehicles, which were all destroyed in the fire.

The fire is now listed as controlled, with eight fire trucks still mopping up at the scene.

The CFA has confirmed fire investigators are at the scene.

However, at this stage, the CFA believes there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the fire.
