A WOORI Yallock toddler was taken to hospital, following a reported dog attack before noon on Monday 15 February.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson confirmed to the Mail that, before noon on Monday, paramedics were called out to a Woori Yallock address after reports of a dog attack on a toddler.

The spokesperson said the toddler, a three-year-old boy, was bitten “several times” on the face, and was being taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital in a stable condition, with injuries to their face and head.

Yarra Ranges Council’s Director of Corporate Services, Troy Edwards, said rangers had attended the address of the attack, and impounded the dog “at the request of the owner”.

Mr Edwards said the dog, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, was owned by a family friend, but occurred on the family’s property.

A council spokesperson said at 3.50pm the dog was on its way to Coldstream’s Animal Aid.
