FOR the past 10 years a local grandmother has raised money for cancer research, but this year she wants the wider community to get involved.
Every year, Beth Honeycombe raises funds for the Cancer Council’s Daffodil Day through selling pens, badges, key-rings and this year Peppa Pig stickers.
This time around, her stalls will be held on Thursday, 27 August, outside of Healesville IGA and Saturday, 28 August, outside Healesville Coles.
Ms Honeycombe said it was important to support the cause.
“It gives everyone in the community a chance to remember friends and loved ones who they have lost,” Ms Honeycombe said.
“I urge the community to support the Cancer Council’s Daffodil Day fund-raiser so that somebody may have a better chance of recovering from cancer.”
The target of funds raised this year by the Cancer Council is $8.5 million and every dollar raised will go towards vital research.
Even $5 donated can help give a newly diagnosed cancer patient support and information resources.
