Two trapped in car crash

UPDATE: 5.30pm

BOTH vehicle occupants have been removed from the vehicle involved in the accident in East Warburton this afternoon.

THE male occupant of the vehicle, aged is his 50s, has been taken by road ambulance to the Alfred hospital in a serious condition

He has injuries to his chest, pelvis and a cut to his head after being trapped in the vehicle for an hour and a half.

The female occupant has minor injuries and was not trapped for as long as the male occupant.

She was taken to Maroondah in stable condition.

 

UPDATE: 4.30pm

Ambulance has arrived on scene and confirmed the male and female occupants of the car are injured but both are conscious and breathing.

A representative from Ambulance Victoria has said the male occupant has possible chest and leg injuries while the female occupant has no serious injuries.

Both people remain trapped within the vehicle.

 

BREAKING 3.45pm

TWO people are trapped in a car Warburton East after their car collided with a tree on Woods Point Road.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the accident just after 3pm today.

The single car crash with two people trapped inside was declared under control by emergency services at about 3.20pm today.

An ambulance is en route to the accident where CFA and SES services are working on freeing the occupants from the car.

A representative of CFA has said it is too early to tell how long the rescue will take.
