VICTORIA Police band Code One performed a free concert in Healesville’s Queens Park last Tuesday.
The family-based crowd, sitting on picnic rugs and deck chairs, enjoyed the chart-topping songs Code One played.
A group of children danced in front of the stage with the performers and police mascot Constable T. Bear who made an appearance, offering handshakes and hugs to the audience.
Onlookers also enjoyed the showbags, Australian flags and soft toys that were handed out by members of the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation.
Code One singer Lorena Novoa has been performing with the band since she joined the police force four years ago and says the crowd enjoyed the Tuesday night performance.
“It was excellent. More people came down during the performance and you could just see that everyone was having fun,” Ms Novoa said.
“Music always brings people together.”
The police bands have already played concerts in Yea, Alexandra and Whittlesea and performances are in support of the bushfire survivors.
